Since August month there has been a lot going on. With new enquiries coming in weekly, guiding clients around the country and new guests arriving regularly we have been having a fun, busy time.
Paul spent five days in Franschhoek with four guests, two of which have come all the way from Arizona, USA to discover South Africa for the first time—staying at the stunning Franschhoek Country House & Villas, the perfect base to discover the Winelands and beyond.
With Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront, Table Mountain, Chapmans Peak, Simons Town & Cape Point all visited over the course of a few days it was time to do some wine tasting. New to us is Waterford Vinyard, we discovered their stunning wines a few weeks ago at the Chef’s Table in Umhlanga whilst enjoying a tasting menu. So, Paul took them on a Wine Safari whilst at Waterford Wine Estate as a treat. To say they were impressed by the experience is an understatement. We are now recommended this to all our guests whilst visiting Franschhoek.
Another Safari.
Meanwhile, back at Indlwana in KwaZulu-Natal Terry has been hosting guests that have been on their own adventures. With great animal sightings at Rhino River Lodge and Amakhosi Safari Lodge (thanks to Donna for the pics), you can see for yourself how well that went.
Heading to the Hills.
It has been great to head back up to the Drakensberg Mountains again. Montusi Mountain Lodge has not only been our destination, but also Helen & Dale Roberts. They ended their South African adventure there, having been at Wait a Little (see the previous blog). Well done to them for reaching Montusi Peak on foot. Some of us took advantage of a four-legged friend!
Montusi is such a wonderful place to relax, walk/hike, fish, read or just admire the stunning surroundings.
Queen Elizabeth II.
What can we say that has not already been said? We were shocked and incredibly saddened to learn of Her Majesties passing.
It coincided with our stay here at Fugitives Drift Lodge. A favourite place of King Charles, Fugitives Drift never fails to interest and inspire guests. This amazing true story is told with dramatic effect, by master historians. Both Paul & Terry will be back with clients this month, so looking forward to this.
Prince Charles with David & Nicky Rattray with sons Andrew, Douglas & Peter. Plus, another well-known young man!
